According to the latest data from REcolorado, the provider of REcolorado.com, the most popular, locally-run home search site for Colorado home buyers, sellers and renters, continued strong demand and low inventory levels across the Denver Metro area pushed average home sale prices to all-time highs in April.

To determine the hottest real estate markets for 2016, we looked at the Zillow Home Value Index (ZHVI) Forecast, recent income growth and current unemployment rates. These variables were scaled and combined equally to form a “hotness score.”

Denver is the best place in the entire nation to live, according to U.S. News & World Report's inaugural "Best Places to Live" rankings.

Two wheels are better than four.

The Mile High City landed the No. 4 spot on Walk Score's new "Most Bikeable Cities 2015" ranking, which gave Denver a 71.3 "bike score," up 1.8 point from last year.

Castle Rock has come a long way from its quarry-town roots. The city is growing at a rapid clip, with a population that has more than tripled in the past 15 years. Diane McKin­na, now 52, moved here with her husband, Scott, and daughter, Katie, back in 2009. At the time, their home was surrounded by bare lots, and they had to go closer to Denver to run many errands. No more. These days the family has plenty of neighbors, plus in-town options for everything from dog grooming to orthodontists. Now a town center is being constructed in their housing development. “I’m thrilled,� says Diane.
